In addition to my private practice, I’m currently part of a team of psychedelic psychotherapists at Polaris Insight Center using KAP (ketamine assisted psychotherapy) for the treatment of depression, PTSD, anxiety and other issues. Ketamine can be a powerful ally for reflection, neuroplasticity, spiritual and emotional growth. In addition to being an anti-depressant on the physiological level, referred to as the ‘swiss army knife’ of psychedelics, it has ways of opening paths of healing psychologically and spiritually. I completed the year-long certificate program at the Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research at CIIS as well as the MAPS MDMA training. I am a ketamine trained therapist, receiving ongoing and substantive training through the Polaris Training Institute. If you are interested in KAP, please learn more at polarisinsight.com or contact me directly at amanda@polarisinsight.com.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Instructions for the Journey

by Pat Schneider

The self you leave behind is only a skin you have outgrown.

Don’t grieve for it.

Look to the wet, raw, unfinished self, the one you are becoming.

The world, too, sheds its skin: politicians, cataclysms, ordinary days.

It’s easy to lose this tenderly unfolding moment. Look for it as it if were the first green blade after a long winter. Listen for it as if it were the first clear tone

in a place where dawn is

heralded by bells.

And if all that fails,

wash your own dishes.

Rinse them.

Stand in your kitchen at your own sink.

Let cold water run between your fingers.

Feel it.
